Rewan Youssif is a 6th Year Medical Student at Alexandria University. She serves as the Regional Assistant for the Standing Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health Including HIV/AIDS for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, she is also the Regional Focal Point for the Middle East and North Africa at the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS.
She has been doing a lot of work related to the Post 2015 Development Agenda, on the national, regional and international levels. She’s attended the World Conference on Youth in Sri Lanka as a facilitator where the Colombo Declaration was done. Then she attended the International AIDS Conference in Melbourne where she was part of the discussions on HIV and SRHR in the Post 2015 Development Agenda. In November, she was invited to the UNAIDS Regional Meeting for Women Leaders in the MENA Region where she actively participated in discussing the status of women living with HIV and Post 2015 Development Agenda. In February, she attended the UNAIDS Regional Advocacy Workshop that was mainly focused on how to do advocacy in the MENA Region. She also attended the UNAIDS Regional consultation.
In July 2015, she was one of HYSMR advocates during the July Intergovernmental Negotiations in New York.
Rewan along with the group who founded the National Youth Advocacy Task Force has made a Youth Consultation on how to tailor the main global issues in the Post 2015 Development Agenda on the National Level and they are still actively working with Ministry of Population in Egypt on the implementation plan.
